“Our fast “food” display is now 2 years old. The word food is questionable, since the bread-like and meat-like substances have not molded or spoiled in any way. Bugs won’t even bother with it. Please think twice about giving this to your kids. You have a choice, but they don’t. We truly are what we eat.”

How scary is this! If bacteria don’t want it, you probably shouldn’t either.
Just another reason to go green! Makes me proud to be a vegetarian.
Namaste,
Anna

That’s disgusting. Ew.

Everything they teach about Egypt in most schools is distorted. The people of Egypt called their country Kemet not Egypt. Kemet means black land. Egypt is a Greek concept. Egypt is derived from the Greek word Aegyptos. The greeks called the kemetians  language hieroglyphs, but the people of Kemet called their language Medu Neter. Even the names we learn of the gods are wrong. Isis Kemetic name is Aset. Anubis is Anpu. Horus is Heru. Osiris is Wesir. I’m doing research to find as many of the true Kemetic  names that I can.

i posted this 4 months ago and it has gotten over a 1,000 reblogs…So i’m sendin it back into rotation. Power of knowledge !!

The Greeks also messed up when they interpreted the religious system. The worship of one God in many forms is the deal. Not multiple Gods. They did not worship the Sun, it was the manifestation of God in the sun, the water, the moon ect. What each element represented.

Europeans Messed Up.. Again

I’m a little late but…

Let’s talk about Treyvon Martin. First let me say that I do believe George Zimmerman is wrong for what he did and I do believe that it did turn racial. That is all I’m going to say about it, because my opinion on what happened is not what I’m here to say.

But the entire situation had me torn in two. When I had finally read the story, my first reaction is that we should riot and get in the streets and act a fool. I told every person (especially those of color) on my campus what the situation was and how I felt about it. I constantly tried to think of why and how a young man armed with a bag of Skittles and an Arizona Tea could be “suspicious”. I wanted to know why George Zimmerman hadn’t been murdered viciously and slowly for what he has done. And then I wondered why I thought he should be. Zimmerman definitely deserved to be punished for his actions, but why am I am suggesting that this man go to the chair with a dry sponge?

The Martin Luther King side came out of me and thought that if we (Black people) go out and riot or cause chaos, more innocent blood would be shed and what good would that do?

I have and still do struggle with my feelings about this. The thought that a young, Black, on his way to no one knows, man was shot and killed for walking to the gas station continues to run through my head.

I don’t want to be that person that is filled with hatred and confused. And I don’t want to hate or dislike an entire race because of the actions of one foolish person. But the fact is that, regardless of any law, if Treyvon had shot and killed Zimmerman, be it self-defense or not, he would have been kept in custody and we all know it.

I do hope to one day have children. And because I prefer Black men, my children will be Black. And if God blesses me with a son, I don’t know how to or why I should have to explain to him that it’s probably best to just let the rain fall on your head instead of putting on your hood, because that could make you look suspicious. Crazy.

Introduction

Hello all! My name is Lyriq and I’m really not the average (I know everybody says that but I’m forreal). I could tell you what makes me different but that would take all the fun out of having a blog now wouldn’t it? Yes it will. So through my various post and rants and raves, you will see what sets me apart from the rest. =) But I will tell you a little about myself. I am a young, black, passionate, educated, ambitious (not because of Wale even though I do love him), sweet woman. My thoughts are what some would consider extreme but I love it. I love to sing and analyze music. At times, I think I can dance but I really can’t. I love taking pictures of and hanging out with my friends. I love to read and write anything but my number one love is poetry. I love to read and listen to spoken word poetry and I will be posting some of my work. (But keep in mind that I am an artist. And i’m sensitive about my sh*t) I love to share my opinion, even when it’s not asked for. If I feel that I have something to say, I will say it wheather or not you want to hear it. I do not ask that people agree with me on everything or even half the things I say, but I do ask that people respect what I have to say. Nothing else needs to be said rite now. Until next time
